I escaped with the file on a train… but the bridge was gone

The aircraft exploded behind him, but Jack didn't stop. He was sprinting across the roof of a speeding train, wind howling in his ears, chased by a drone armed with missiles. Ahead, a shattered bridge, behind, a ticking bomb. He shouted into his comms, it's now or never! He jumped with all his strength. The world went silent.

The beginning.

Jack Hunter, a former elite intelligence agent, had been retired for five years. He lived quietly in New York, running a small bookstore, trying to forget the missions, the betrayals, and the blood. But peace never lasts.

One rainy morning, he received a coded message from Max, his old partner, who was presumed dead. File X will be sold tonight in Berlin. If they get it, Millions die. You're the only one I trust.

Filex contained the locations of dormant nuclear weapons, hidden during the Cold War. If it fell into the wrong hands, it could trigger global chaos. Jack didn't hesitate. He packed his gear, grabbed his old watch with the hidden tracker, and booked the next flight to Berlin.

In Berlin, Jack met with a local contact named Lena, a skilled hacker who owed Max a favor. She gave him the location of the deal, an abandoned freight terminal near the river. Jack disguised himself as a cargo worker and slipped inside.

The buyers were already there, three men in suits, guarded by mercenaries. The briefcase sat on a metal table. He waited for the right moment, but one of the guards noticed something. Who's that? Jack was exposed. Gunfire erupted.

Jack dove behind crates, grabbed a pistol from a fallen guard, and returned fire. He moved fast, disabling enemies with precision. He reached the briefcase, grabbed it, and ran. Outside, a black SUV chased him through the narrow streets. Lena intercepted him on a motorcycle. Hop on! They sped through alleys, dodging bullets, until they reached the train station.

Jack jumped onto a moving train, but the enemy wasn't done. A drone launched from the SUV and locked onto him. He climbed to the roof, wind roaring, heart pounding. The drone fired. Jack dodged, rolled, and kept running. Ahead, the bridge was destroyed. Behind him, the drone armed another missile. He shouted, It's now or never! and jumped.

Jack landed hard on the rooftop of a nearby building. His shoulder dislocated, but he kept moving. He reached the extraction point, but it was a trap. Max was there, alive but handcuffed. The buyer's leader stepped out of the shadows. You brought the file? Good. Now, hand it over. Jack tossed the briefcase, but it exploded in a flash of smoke.

He charged forward, took down two guards, and freed Max. Together, they fought their way out, using every trick they knew from their old missions. The Ending They escaped through the sewers and reached a safehouse.

The real file was hidden in Jack's watch all along. They sent it securely to the agency, who shut down the operation and arrested the buyers. Max looked at Jack. You still got it? Jack smiled.

I'm retired! Again, back in New York, Jack returned to his bookstore. He placed the watch in a locked drawer, poured himself a coffee, and opened a novel. This time, the only explosions were in fiction.
